GROTTO: Tofu Bag: Simple and Uncommon

GROTTO will release the new Tofu Bag in May 2025, from the brand's main theme of “BORN FOR FREEDOM”, the designers conceptualize the intersection of square and soft balance, interpreting the freedom of continuous exploration between rationality and sensibility. The designer draws inspiration from the journey, integrating the functionality of multiple pockets and lightweight portability into the design of Tofu Bag, balancing functionality and aesthetics in the details, and interpreting the aesthetic expression of simplicity without losing depth.

The Tofu Bag is made of imported Japanese Napa cowhide, tanned by experienced workers with traditional water-dyeing technology, which realizes the harmony and unity of softness and toughness while preserving the delicate texture of the leather. The leather surface is smooth, with a warm natural luster, and will become more and more supple and full with use, showing its unique elegant texture, and precipitating a calm and full of vitality of beauty.

The Tofu Bag is made of Napa Wagyu calf leather on the outside and vegan calf leather on the inside. The combination of the two different leather materials, similar to the internal and external bag design structure, makes the bag body soft while presenting a stable and broad silhouette, and the shape is sharp but not easy to collapse. In terms of functional design, the zippered inner pocket is convenient for storing valuables, while the multiple partitioned pockets on the outside make it easy to access daily items, enhancing the convenience and orderliness of daily use.

The Tofu Bag is designed with a wide shoulder strap, which is highly wrappable and brings a softer and more comfortable upper body experience; the shoulder strap buckle is handmade by craftsmen using genuine leather wrapped inlays, further highlighting the texture details. The inside of the shoulder strap is embellished with hand-embroidered “Little Boy in Red Pants”, adding more fun. Small leather tabs are added at the head and tail of the zipper for easy opening and closing. The details all convey GROTTO's consideration of the balance between practicality and aesthetics.
